The Problem
Mass produced bread has been stripped of nutrients, full of sugar and made with preservatives to help extend the shelf-life. It's made from wheat that's been sprayed with chemicals, putting farmworkers health at risk and damaging the environment.
Our Food Fix
We source our bread from artisanal bakers like Orwasher's Bakery, who have been baking bread for NYers since 1916. The bakery was born out of a desire to serve local immigrant community members and focused on the high quality rye, black and grain breads that reflected the traditions of their homeland of Hungary. The bakery now partners with regional farmers to source its raw ingredients.
