With so many apples available during this season, an easy recipe that makes sure none of them goes to waste is this cinnamon apple butter. Adding apple cider vinegar gives the butter tanginess that cuts through the natural sweetness of the apples. Smear it on top of toast or use it as a filling for a cake. It tastes so good that you can eat it straight out of the jar!
1 ½ lbs apples, peeled and cored
⅜ cup apple cider vinegar
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup water
½ cup dark brown sugar
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
⅛ teaspoon cloves
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
